Hannable Parrish is the Pocono Photo Club September Photographer of the Month!
In Hannable's own words:
I’ve been taking pictures for over twenty years. My interest in photography started when I won a toy camera from a penny arcade as a kid. I basically became the official family photographer.
I currently own two Nikons, a D750 & D700. The D750 is pretty good and has many great features . The D700 is great for Landscapes. My favorite lens is the Nikon’s 28 – 300 mm 3.5 – 5.6 G ED. It’s light, versatile, accurate and saves me from constantly changing lens.
Wildlife and Landscapes are my favorite genre. It could be a sunny or cloudy day or clear starlit night and I can still take good pictures. Wildlife fascinates me, I love the colors, beauty and multiple personalities. Plus, they never stop to answer cell phones or complain about their appearance.
One day I hope to capture Brown bears catching spawning wild salmon in midair or cheetah moms cleaning their young.
I love art, unfortunately my drawing and painting skills are poor. Photography allows me to artistically express myself.
My favorite spot to take photographs is the Bronx Zoo. I don’t mind shooting in bad weather, Flamingos, Geese, Bison and fewer people. You can use all of your photo equipment and I mean everything, low-light wide-angle, telephoto & converter, filters tripods or just simply perfect your skills. I can direct you to just about anyplace in the zoo to use photo equipment. With the exception of time lapse shooting.
While photographing a grazing Zebra, I was photo-bombed by another Zebra. I captured them from front to back. I merged the three shots into a panorama. It reminds me that in life, I should smile and enjoy the moment.
I’ve been a PPC for over two year. My images and skill have vastly improved as well as the understanding of my cameras. I cannot put this into words. The members are great. So much knowledge. Wow!…
