What's Outside Your Window?

Introduce us to the sights you see when you glance outside.  Is it the garden shed, the neighbor's mailbox, a friendly critter, or the changing leaves?

The creative controls are in your hands with this month's shoot out.

Send 3-5 of your favorites to Ann
by October 5, 2021 for the
October newsletter
and monthly meeting.

If you can't find something to photograph within 40 feet of where you are standing you are not SEEING.

Ruth Bernhard

A good photograph is knowing where to stand.

Ansel Adams

If you do not see what is around you everyday, what will you see when you go to Tangiers?

Freeman Patterson

As much as an image speaks
of the things seen,
it speaks also of
the person who
photographs it.

NEW! July PPC Monthly Meeting Recordings Added!

The July Monthly Meeting recordings are available in the Members Only Materials section.

If you missed either of the meetings or if you want to review the many good ideas presented, this is a wonderful resource to see the meeting at your convenience.

The July Meeting has this year's judge, Jim LaSala's discussion of the Scavenger Hunt results. Jim's discussion of the winning pictures includes some very valuable ideas about why some photographs stand out and capture attention, when others seem routine.

All previous regular Pocono Photo Club Meetings conducted on Zoom are available to watch.

Ray Roper will be opening a one-man show at the Brodhead Creek Heritage Center in September. Congratulations Ray!

“Focus on the Poconos (with a few ringers)” will be the title of my one-man exhibit that will make its debut September 1st at the Brodhead Creek Heritage Center at ForEvergreen Nature Preserve and will remain for the entire month of September.

Hanging (the photos, not me) will be on August 31st or September 1st, and the exhibit will be open to the public during the center’s normal operating hours of 9 to 5 weekdays. The opening reception is scheduled for Sunday, September 12th from 1 to 4 PM.

I will post that again when the event has been firmed up. I will be hanging roughly 30 images, most of which are new and never before displayed. All prints are framed and available for purchase. Please stop in and enjoy my work, and take a walk in the preserve while you are there!

National Geographic Seine River Photo Cruise
National Geographic Seine River Photo Cruise

This cruise opportunity is not a Pocono Photo Club event - we have no financial interest in this event. But we thought that it might be of interest to you as we start to crawl out of our pandemic cocoons and hidey-holes. It is far enough in the future (2022) to probably not be impacted by current travel restrictions.

Details are still being solidified, but here is some tentative information provided by Disney:

While each person's information will vary, here is some general information regarding this itinerary (which is spectacular, by the way!)

This is a 7 night/8 day trip. These sailings with a National Geographic Photographer are being offered for 3 sailings only.

~ June 9th - June 16th, 2022

~ June 23 - June 30th, 2022

~ July 14th - July 21, 2022

Prices for this cruise start at $4989 per person (Flights are not included, however transportation to and from the airport is included in this cost) . This cost can vary depending on the stateroom category and location on the ship. It includes most meals, and numerous opportunities for amazing photos depending on each days excursions. You will have the incredible access to no less than 2 adventure guides on your trip as well. The actual itinerary has not yet been released, due to the fact that THESE sailings are primarily photography based, and ports will include the best places to capture amazing photos.
