Welcome to the Pocono Photo Club...

Our mission is to encourage knowledge, skills and enjoyment of photography through monthly meetings, workshops, lectures and demonstrations encompassing all phases of photography.

The Pocono Photo Club consists of area professionals, advanced amateurs and those just beginning their journey into photography. Our members photograph a wide range of subjects including nature, landscape, macro, portraiture, sports and much more.

STROUDFEST 2024!

Saturday August 31st, 2024

from 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Main Street Stroudsburg - in front of Starbucks

The Pocono Photo Club in conjunction with Studio R Photography (PPC member Gina Matarazzo) will be having a display at this year's Stroudfest.

StroudFest – FREE COMMUNITY EVENT – The Sherman Theater presents the 15th annual Labor Day Festival on Saturday, August 31 from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM! Craft, retail, food and beverage vendors will line the sidewalks on Main Street from 5th to 9th Street, featuring a food court in Courthouse Square, complementing dozens of eclectic shops and restaurants downtown. There will be live music at multiple stages throughout the day, and lots of activities for the whole family to enjoy!

We will be setting up our tent and display for the event. Our location will be near Starbucks Cafe.

We are looking for pictures to be hung on the display to help promote our club:

-Pictures must be framed.

-Size limit to 12x18 max

-Pictures may be sold at the event

-Must have Tag with Name and Price

-Limit 3 per Person

We will also need some volunteers throughout the event with set-up and takedown.

Members are responsible for drop off and pickup for the event.

AUGUST THEME OF THE MONTH

The Theme of the month for August is:

"In the Kitchen"

and

"Food! Glorious Food!"

Get those recipes going and create some images for this month's Theme of the Month. Let's see some cooking on the grill, campfire, garden vegetables, fruit stand, or something different. Please send in 3-5 of your best. Images will be shown at the next member meeting on Tuesday August 20th.

Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area

Anytime, Any Place, bring a friend!

Contact a friend or two and pick a great spot to shoot some winning photos!! Submit a few to the Friends of DWGNRA photo contest or just start building up a stash of photos of one of the most beautiful places to get outside and enjoy nature!

Delaware Water Gap Calendar Photo Contest

The yearly calendar contest has begun. We are looking for members to enter to try and get your photos in next year's calendar. The cost this year is $5.00 for 4 images. Yup, that is right one more photo than last year! Please try to support this great event and organization.

PPC Event Online Slideshows Now Available

A New Website Feature!

We are now making the slideshows prepared from Club activities (Shoot Outs, Themes of the Month and Contests) available online for viewing and reviewing at your convenience. Our monthly member meetings have become so crowded with Club News, activities, contests, Photographers of the Month Presentations and guest speakers that we have had to postpone showing some of our activity picture compilations. While we still plan to show our activity slideshows during our meetings, this new online/on demand viewing opportunity will increase your opportunities to relive and enjoy our Club members' creative capabilities.

To tap into this new source for enjoyment and learning, just click on the "Club Activities" menu item and select "PPC Event Picture Slideshows". While we are starting out with our most recent (and enjoyable) events, we will post older slideshows as time permits. Please check this area monthly to see what you, and your Club have been accomplishing. The slideshows are all in video streaming format and set to music. “Beauty and Adventures in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area” Calendar Photo Competition

“Beauty and Adventures in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area” Calendar photo Competition

The contest for the 2025 Friends calendar is underway! Gather your favorite photos of the DWGNRA now for submission. Final submission date will be August 3rd 2024. This event is in cooperation with the Pocono Photo Club, but you do not have to be a member of the Friends or the Pocono Photo Club to join the fun.

The photos should be in one of four categories and be from any season of the year. The photos do not have to be taken in any particular timeframe, so check your favorite photos from years past as well as recent ones.

The four categories are:

1. Landscapes and Waterfalls

2. Wildlife

3. Recreation in the Park

4. Historical Structures and Miscellaneous

The cost to submit is $5 for up to 4 photos. You may submit multiple groups of 4 if you like. There will be one $50 winner in each category, and 8 honorable mentions whose pictures will be included on the calendar.

When submitting your photos, please review the Photo Release Agreement and indicate if the photos may be used for promotional materials for the Friends or Friends & DWGNRA or Calendar only. When used as promotional materials. the photographer will be given credit.

Pocono Mountain Flight Fest

Join us for the Pocono Mountains Flight Fest on Saturday, August 3rd, from 11 am to 5 pm at the Pocono Mountains Regional Airport! Enjoy plane and helicopter rides, food trucks, touch-a-truck, kids' rides, a live DJ, and much more!

This event supports the Vern Moyer Aviation Fund. The Vern Moyer Aviation Fund has been established in his memory to provide scholarships to students interested in pursuing a career in aviation.

Calling all Camaros to the Chevrolet Class at 'Das Awkscht Fescht' on Sunday August 4th. The Lehigh Valley Camaro Club is hosting and parking the class, and all Chevys are welcome. Let's make sure there are more Camaros than Mustangs again this year!!

Pocono State Craft Fair

The premier art and craft festival in the Pocono region returns for its 37th year, August 24-25, 2024, at Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.

Stroll the grounds of the farm to shop and enjoy work from over 60 juried craftspeople and artisans. Clothing and fiber arts, woodcraft, jewelry, glasswork, pottery and ceramics, fine art, printmaking, photography, and more can be found at Pocono State Craft Festival. Gourmet food items and small batch soaps and personal care compliment the functional and decorative arts.

The Lost Ramblers and Doug Smith & Friends fill the air with toe-tappin’ music as Atomic Hogs BBQ and Quiet Valley Friends keep bellies full. Say hello to a variety of farm life while exploring the talents of regional artists. And don’t forget to stop by the farm’s bake-oven for fresh bread before heading home!

The Pocono State Craft Festival supports the activities of three non-profit organizations: Pocono Arts Council, Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm, and the Pocono Chapter of the PA Guild of Craftsmen. These organizations provide year-round cultural, educational, and community events for the region.

Admission

Adults: $6 / Kids 12 and under: Free

Admission includes many of Quiet Valley’s attractions.

Festival Hours

10:00am to 5:00pm

Saturday, August 24th and Sunday, August 25th

Parking is free!

The festival is located on a historical working farm with grass and gravel driveways, it is not fully ADA compliant, however many folks using wheelchairs and walkers do enjoy the festival. Accessible parking is near the gate.

No Smoking / No Pets

Quiet Valley is a working farm. Pets (except service dogs) are NOT permitted! Please be respectful of this rule for the safety and well-being of your pet and the farm’s livestock.
