Pinelands 2021 Annual Juried Photographic Exhibition Postponed

PPC has received this message from Stephen Sebastian of the Pinelands Preservation Alliance concerning their juried photography exhibition and upcoming program on February 26th with the request that we pass the information along to our members:

We have been monitoring the latest developments regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, it is unlikely that the COVID-19 vaccines (two dose regimes) will be widely available to the general public in time for our planned March 27, 2021 opening reception.

In the interest of safety, our Pinelands 2021 Annual Juried Photographic Exhibition has been pushed back until 2022. The new submission deadline is January 30, 2022. All prior submissions for our rescheduled 2021 exhibit will be included in our 2022 exhibit.

The opening reception is now scheduled for Saturday, March 26, 2022 (2pm – 4pm). For more information and updates on our exhibit, please visit our exhibit webpage - PinelandsPhotoExhibit.org .

Over $2,000 in cash prizes will be awarded. Photographs selected as Finalists will hang in the exhibit, and all photos submitted will be displayed in a video slideshow during the exhibit.

Statewide Virtual Photo Exhibit to Document Pennsylvania’s COVID-19 Experience

First Lady Frances Wolf announced One Lens: Sharing Our Common Views, a statewide virtual photo exhibit she is launching to document the story of Pennsylvania throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

The exhibit will celebrate the hard work and commitment of all Pennsylvanians as we continue our fight against COVID-19.

By using photography as the medium to tell these stories, One Lens also emphasizes using art as a tool for Pennsylvanians to cope and to heal. The exhibit covers three themes:

  • Our Heroes, paying homage to the pandemic heroes who cannot stay home
  • Our Lives, looking at how we spend our time when no one is watching
  • Our Communities, showcasing Pennsylvanians uniting in the face of a global health crisis

The photo submission period will open on Monday, February 8, 2021, and remain open until Monday, March 8, 2021.

The full exhibit will be released on Friday, March 19, 2021.

One Lens highlights the importance of preserving history by encouraging Pennsylvanians to share their experiences during COVID-19 through photography. The submitted images will be displayed for public viewing and saved as visual documentation of the pandemic.
