This free, family-friendly living history event invites visitors of all ages to experience how ice was harvested a century ago. Guests may help cut and move ice, stack ice cakes in the icehouse, or simply watch the reenactment.
This year marks the debut of the fully restored 1918 Gifford ice saw with a 4-cylinder Buda engine, along with a preserved 1921 Gifford Wood ice saw—both rare, historic machines.
The Wills Mansion Museum will be open 9:00 AM–2:00 PM with exhibits, hot cocoa, and ice-harvesting memorabilia. Nearby, VFW Post 509 will serve breakfast 7:00–11:00 AM and lunch until 2:00 PM.
Current ice thickness is 7 inches.
