PPC Workshop:United Methodist Church
February 13, 2026
4:00 pm
83 South Courtland Street, just across from the Pocono Cinema

Our February Shoot Out will take place in East Stroudsburg at the East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church, located on South Courtland Street.

Built in 1923, the church has a fascinating history. At the time of its construction, the pastor called upon the congregation to pledge funds for the sanctuary and adjoining parsonage—a bold move that raised eyebrows due to the building’s size and cost. Many felt it was far more extravagant than necessary. Today, however, the results speak for themselves.

The church features stunning Art Deco–style stained glass windows that are elegant and understated, offering a beautiful contrast to the more ornate windows found in other churches. Inside, photographers will find rich woodwork, period lighting, and architectural details that will glow beautifully in the afternoon sun. The exterior of the church, along with South Courtland Street, will also provide great opportunities for street photography and exterior compositions.
