Featured Members Photos

Spring is coming and our members are traveling!  Historical sites, landscapes, wildlife - it all adds up to interesting beauty.
Remember, these photos are just the tip of the iceberg of images posted by our creative members!  For more, see our Member Albums Section.
Consider submitting your own personal album in the Members' Photos area.

How To Upload Member Photos To Website (Updated)

A Suggestion:
Do you have more great pictures from that last Shoot Out and Theme of the Month to share.  Consider posting focused albums from those events to show us your stuff.  We all see the same scenes differently and we reflect those differences in our work.  We gain inspiration and knowledge from seeing through other members eyes.  Be one of those "others" that members see and admire.

Scavenger Hunt Graphic from Bob

This year's Scavenger Hunt, started March 1st and runs through May 23rd!

CATEGORIES:
1. Mystery – create an element of mystery – don’t tell the whole story. Leave something out!
2. Candlelight – embrace the darkness – the photograph must be lit by candlelight only
3. Love – interpret the subject BUT no kids, pets, parents, or partners – go DEEPER
4. Classic Still Life – gather two pieces of fruit and one object of your own choice to create a classic still life but in a modern, unexpected context
5. Negative Space – use this with “wild and reckless abandon” – making your main subject a very small part of the composition
6. Textures – photograph a juxtaposition of texture: put smooth against rough or rough against smooth BUT – don’t just stop with those two textures!
7. Foregrounds – force the foreground subject out of focus leaving the background in focus

Here are the rules, as given to us from Palmerton Photo Club
:

One photograph per category.
The interpretation of the categories is up to the photographer.
Entering in all seven categories is not required; photographers can enter as few as one category.
Images must be in jpeg format only. No titles are needed.
Images must be submitted via e-mail by midnight May 23, 2024: poconohunt@gmail.com
File names should be in the following format: 1-PAL-LucyFreck-jpg
PAL: Palmerton Camera Club
POC: Pocono Photo Club
For example: 1-PAL-LucyFreck.jpg: Category 1, Palmerton, Lucy Freck; photographer.
Images must be taken between the dates of March 1, 2024 and May 23, 2024.
The use of any camera is permitted including cell phones. Manipulation should be limited to the brightness/contrast, sharpening, exposure, cropping or B&W conversion.
Advanced adjustments such as HDR, artistic filters, panorama stitching, focus stacking, and multiple exposures are not allowed.
Watermarks should not appear on submitted images.

First place for best image will be awarded in each category.
Among photographers who enter all seven categories, a best group of all seven will be awarded.
The judge will award Honorable Mentions at his/her discretion but will not count as points.
One photograph will be chosen out of all the entries as “Best of Show”
