2026 Scavenger Hunt
It is that time of the year again for our annual scavenger hunt contest between Palmerton Camera Club and the Pocono Photo club.!
Let's keep the trophy with the PPC!

Please see categories and rules below.

Good luck to all!

Deadline Midnight May 13th 2026!

The contest is open to all members in good standing of Pocono Photo Club and Palmerton Camera Club.

While entering all 7 categories by an individual is not required, only one photograph per category will be accepted. Photographers can enter one category or as many as 7 categories.

The interpretation of each category is up to the photographer by using all cameras including cell phones. Editing should be limited to: standard color, brightness/contrast, basic sharpening, exposure correction, cropping, or B&W conversion, and removal of distracting objects or dust spots.

Photographs cannot be altered using advanced adjustments such as HDR, artistic filters, panorama stitching, focus stacking, B&W with one color remaining, and multiple exposures, even if this can be done in-camera. Please do not include any identifying characteristics such as watermarks, names, or titles on the images.

Categories:

1.Point of view: Try to see the world through the perspective of someone or something else, be it a person or an object. What does the world look like through another’s eyes? What does a fly on the wall see?

2.Parallel lines: Parallel lines are everywhere, in architecture, agriculture, even your own home. They can meet at a vanishing point or carry on indefinitely. The more lines, the better!

3.Typography- having fun with fonts: Written letters and numbers are all around us. The whole world is labeled! Make letters your subject.

4.Play with focus: Does everything have to be perfectly focused? What would happen if your image (or even just part of it) was out of focus? Could it add mystery or interest?

5.Repetition: Create depth and interest through repetitive patterns or objects. Look for similar elements.

6.Bridge- small bridges: old, unusual, covered, stone arch, abandoned, ornate. Also, try to use an interesting angle for the shot, lighting, or include something to add to the interest.

7.Springtime- since the contest runs from March through May, plant life will be emerging and flowering. Capture the beauty and wonder of this season.
