Delaware Water Gap Calendar Photo Contest
The yearly calendar contest has begun. We are looking for members to enter to try and get your photos in next year‘s calendar.
The cost this year is $5.00 for 4 images. Yup, that is right one more photo than last year! Please try to support this great event and organization.
Locations to consider:
Childs Park - Zimmerman Farm - Along the Mcdade Trail - PA
Blue Mtn Lakes - Skyline Drive - Crater Lake - NJ
Buttermilk Falls - Millbrook Village - NJ
Van Camplen Glen & B.B. Van Campen Farm - NJ
Tumbling Waters, Dingmans, & Raymondskill Waterfalls - PA
Eshback, Wheat Fields, and Community Dr farms - PA
The pictures do not have to be taken in this time frame, anyone can submit old photos taken years ago if they chose. This year the final date for submission is August 3rd.

Our next workshop we will be learning the basic concepts of Lighting. Dave Butler from Stroudsburg Foto will be showing us the newest methods of Lighting techniques. We will discuss on and off camera flash, Strobe lighting, LED, and much more. Bring your cameras and your questions.
Workshop is open to members and non-members.
Free for members.
$10.00 for Non Members.

"Food! Glorious Food!"
Get those recipes going and create some images for this month‘s Theme of the Month. Let‘s see some cooking on the grill, campfire, garden vegetables, fruit stand, or something different. Please send in 3-5 of your best.

All photos need to be submitted by midnight Sunday August 18th so they can be included in the slideshow for the member meeting on Tuesday August 20th.
PPC Monthly Meetings are held at 7:00 pm on the third Tuesday of each month. Members will receive a link to the online meeting on the Friday before the meeting. Non-members may attend one monthly meeting. Contact webmaster@poconophotoclub.com for a link to the meeting.

On Sunday, August 25th, 2024 the Barrett Township Historical Society will be hosting the arrival of a train from Steamtown in Scranton.
Dave Cook‘s (Cook‘s Corner) Food Truck will be there with great Food, Antique Cars, Vendors, and Entertainment! Tickets to ride the train from Scranton to Cresco and back can be purchased at Steamtown‘s link below.

The Pocono Photo Club in conjunction with Studio R Photography (PPC member Gina Matarazzo) will be having a display at this year‘s Stroudfest.
StroudFest – FREE COMMUNITY EVENT – The Sherman Theater presents the 15th annual Labor Day Festival on Saturday, August 31 from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM! Craft, retail, food and beverage vendors will line the sidewalks on Main Street from 5th to 9th Street, featuring a food court in Courthouse Square, complementing dozens of eclectic shops and restaurants downtown. There will be live music at multiple stages throughout the day, and lots of activities for the whole family to enjoy!
We will be setting up our tent and display for the event. Our location will be near Starbucks Cafe.
We are looking for pictures to be hung on the display to help promote our club:
-Pictures must be framed
-Size limit to 12x18 max
-Pictures may be sold at the event
-Must have Tag with Name and Price
-Limit 3 per Person
We will also need some volunteers to be present throughout the event, and assistance with set-up and takedown.
Members are responsible for drop off and pickup for the event.

In an effort to support the conservation of our county’s natural resources, we feel it is important to allow the public an opportunity to showcase what they feel are Monroe County’s finest natural resources.
All entries are due to the Monroe County Conservation District by September 20, 2024.
Judging will be performed by Monroe County Conservation District
Staff and winners will be notified by October 25, 2024. All decisions are final.
Winning photographs will be on display in MCCD‘s art gallery from December 2,
2024 through January 31, 2025.
