Photographer of the Month - July 2019
How long have you been taking pictures?
Kay Williams is the Pocono Photo Club Photographer of the Month!
What camera/lenses do you use?
I started taking pictures after my children were born and was always the one who took the pictures at all family gatherings, but I didn’t get serious about photography until about 10 years ago!
What is your favorite genre and subject matter?
My camera equipment is as follows:
• Nikon D90
• Nikon D7100
• Olympus E-M10 Mark III
• Nikkor Micro 85mm
• Nikkor 18-300mm
• Olympus 75-300mm
• Olympus 14-42mm
Is there anything else that you would like to share?
I love macro photography because I find it fascinating to see flowers and insects up close. I also love taking pictures in nature and especially love wildlife photography. Nothing relaxes me more than taking a walk in the woods or by a lake or river with my camera! I very much enjoy post processing, adding textures to my photos and digital art.
I learned a little bit at a time with the help of many excellent photographers that I met over the years who inspired me with their knowledge and creativity and were kind enough to give me advice. Photography is not only a hobby, but a way of life. I rarely go anywhere without my camera and look at everything I see as a potential photo! I don’t travel a lot so I try to challenge myself to find new ways to photograph familiar places.
