No Particular Place To Go
No Particular Place To Go
Many stay at home activities and learning opportunities are popping up during this time of imposed solitude.  Let's make some lemonade!  Many free or reduced online photography training courses are now available being offered to ease these troubled times.  Museums are opening up their online galleries for free viewing.  Many forest trails are available for use even though the park facilities have closed.  Return here often for updates.

Take A Hike!

STAY AT HOME ORDER

The following guidance is from the PA Website

As of April 1, 2020.

STATEWIDE MITIGATION

The entire commonwealth is now under statewide COVID-19 mitigation. Here is what statewide mitigation means.

General Guidance
Freedom of travel will remain, but all Pennsylvanians are asked to refrain from non-essential travel.

The Wolf Administration strongly encourages the suspension of large gatherings, events, conferences of more than 10 people, and per White House guidelines, ask that individuals and groups cancel any gatherings planned over the next eight weeks.

The Wolf Administration encourages religious leaders to exercise discretion in order to mitigate the spread of illness.

Does this mean that we must confine our photography to our home interior or yard?

Reading the Statewide Mitigation General Guidance gives us some breathing room in complying with order, as long as that breathing room is at least six feet from another human.

Reading further, the General Guidance goes on to say:

Allowable Individual Activities

Individuals may leave their residence ONLY to perform any of the following allowable individual activities and allowable essential travel.

 • Tasks essential to maintain health and safety, or the health and safety of their family or household members (including, but not limited to, pets), such as obtaining medicine or medical supplies, visiting a health care professional, or obtaining supplies they need to work from home.

 • Getting necessary services or supplies for themselves or their family or household members, or to deliver those services or supplies to others, such as getting food and household consumer products, pet food, and supplies necessary to maintain the safety, sanitation, and essential operation of residences. This includes volunteer efforts to distribute meals and other life-sustaining services to those in need.

 • Engaging in outdoor activity, such as walking, hiking or running if they maintain social distancing.

 • To perform work providing essential products and services at a life-sustaining business (see below for details about life-sustaining business activities).

 • To care for a family member or pet in another household.

Phillips Mill Photographic Exhibition

April 5-23, 2020

In response to the unprecedented public health crisis related to Coronavirus (COVID-19), we are cancelling the Phillips Mill Photo Exhibition. Please know that this decision was made after careful deliberation and that our priority is to do all we can to ensure the safety and well being of our artists, patrons and community. We will instead be producing an online exhibition. Please be patient as we move forward in producing this show online.

Wishing everyone much health.

Middle Smithfield 2020

The Middle Smithfield Exhibition scheduled for April has been cancelled due to the current COVID-19 concerns.

Middle Smithfield informed us:

Unfortunately due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, our restaurant week kick off event has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled. If the PPC would like to have an exhibit at a later date at the Township Building or the Community Center when it opens, that can be arranged.

Your Executive Committee will pursue such a possible later exhibition.  Make use of your new "free" time to polish some Spring/Summer In the Poconos pictures to be ready.
