PPC Participation In the East Stroudsburg Anniversary Celebrations.

East Stroudsburg's Summer long anniversary celebration continues through October. PPC was asked to help document the festivities and civic spirit by providing member photographers to capture the human moments in the events.

While this is not the photography that most of us gravitate to, it is a good opportunity to practice event/photojournalism/street photography in a very forgiving and close to home situation. The events are not breath-taking and attendance is limited. This is a small town American event! But it is a chance to get to know a portion of our area better and to give back to the community.

What's involved? Not too much - just check the published schedules or look at our website Calendar to find an up-coming event that might be of interest to you (sorry, the Ice Cream Social has passed). There's "Dancing Through the Decades" this Sunday, June 27th. Every Monday features Music On Mondays. Fireworks on Friday, July 2nd! Fun & Games, a good old fashion Hoedown, a Pool Splash and if you like track racing, you might want to keep an eye open for the "NJ Track Cars" event.

Don't like to do those things? Do you like to take pictures of kids liking to do those things? Families having fun? Kids Carnival Games?

East Stroudsburg Borough Website Anniversary Coverage

The good news: You don't have to get up before sunrise or stay up all night to catch those magic shots. You don't even have to stay for the whole event. Come, capture the essence of neighbors having fun and celebrating civic pride and leave when you want. And for most of us, there isn't even much driving required.

See the pull-down notice entitled "150th Anniversary - PPC Photographer Badge Templates" in the right column.

Select your best shots, polish them to a fine sheen and drop them in the drop-off site link included below, to be used internally within the Pocono Photo Club and to be shared with the Anniversary organizers to document their events. Feel the power of wearing one of Karen Ludwig's professionally designed "PPC Official Photographer" badges. Feel the power of the press and the appreciation of the East Stroudsburg Anniversary officials.

There is one Dropbox drop off link for all Anniversary events (like comingled recycling). Please title your image files with your name, the ES Anniversary event and a sequential number or the original file name. Ex: [Name] - ES [Event] - ###.jpg. Picture quality should be of moderate to high resolution.

National Geographic Seine River Photo Cruise
National Geographic Seine River Photo Cruise

This cruise opportunity is not a Pocono Photo Club event - we have no financial interest in this event. But we thought that it might be of interest to you as we start to crawl out of our pandemic cocoons and hidey-holes. It is far enough in the future (2022) to probably not be impacted by current travel restrictions.

Details are still being solidified, but here is some tentative information provided by Disney:

While each person's information will vary, here is some general information regarding this itinerary (which is spectacular, by the way!)

This is a 7 night/8 day trip. These sailings with a National Geographic Photographer are being offered for 3 sailings only.

~ June 9th - June 16th, 2022

~ June 23 - June 30th, 2022

~ July 14th - July 21, 2022

Prices for this cruise start at $4989 per person (Flights are not included, however transportation to and from the airport is included in this cost) . This cost can vary depending on the stateroom category and location on the ship. It includes most meals, and numerous opportunities for amazing photos depending on each days excursions. You will have the incredible access to no less than 2 adventure guides on your trip as well. The actual itinerary has not yet been released, due to the fact that THESE sailings are primarily photography based, and ports will include the best places to capture amazing photos.
