Sam Prynda is the Pocono Photo Club Photographer of the Month!
Hello to all,
I started getting interested in photography about 25 years ago. My first camera was a Konica 5050. I was more of a recreational photographer up until my son started playing ice hockey.
So around 2005 I got my first digital camera, D70, from Dave at Stroudsburg Foto and started shooting the hockey games. All of a sudden the parents were requesting more and more photos of their kids playing. So before I knew it, the lens got bigger, the camera got faster, and my passion went into high gear.
At the beginning I mainly shot youth sports, Hockey, Lacrosse, soccer, and some dirt bike racing. I love shooting the action sports. I also had the opportunity of shooting the Scranton University Hockey team.
Next I finally got the nerve up to create my own web page to try and promote my photos. I really love the reactions I get from people seeing what I have captured through my lens.
Now I love shooting a verity of subjects like the outdoors, group shots, sports, and family portraits. Since I am so used to shooting sports, my biggest issue is telling myself to slow down! The camera is almost always with me. I can’t wait to see what I can photograph next!
